The main thing is that Celtic beat Partick tonight and maintain that astonishing run of victories in domestic cup competitions, but it’s fair to say the performance left something to be desired.
On another day some chances and decisions from the ref go the other way and the scoreline does look more comfortable, but it seems there is a feeling from some fans that the team needs to be doing better.

Realistically lenny knows he can put a team out who should beat most teams in Scotland as long as they turn up, but we’ve seen many examples of the team failing to get out of first or second gear and better opposition will just stifle them.
A look on Twitter after the game tonight shows there’s plenty of unhappy supporters after the performance:
A win’s a win, but we’ve got to be better on Wednesday man

That’s not to say it was only the Celtic players who were getting criticised for their performances, the match officials aren’t getting a glowing review either:

MacGregor miles on side, frimpong denied stonewall pen, and never a pen in a million years against frimpong, honest mistakes?

It might not be the best performance of all time, but it was also a victory after the break away to a lower league team in the cup who were well up for it, so it’s not a disaster.
Hopefully this will shake the rust off and we start to see some more cohesive performances going forward.
