Of course Celtic will expect to be eliminated from European competition every season, but this will be a particularly tough one to take.
We saw in the group stages that the team was capable of beating Lazio and home and away and it gave some real hope for the fans that the team could go deep into the competition.
Being seeded for the draw and taking on a poor Copenhagen team looked perfect, so there will be a lot of questions to answer after tonight.

Celtic looked so dominant in the first half of the first leg and it looked like they would sail through, but if you won’t take your chances or defend properly then a defeat has to be expected.
It will be even more crushing that the team managed to find a way back into the game only for some dreadful defending to throw it away almost instantly, and there are some very angry fans on Twitter after the result:
We Deserved to Lose. Lennon should have had Jozo off at HT. Every man and his Dog knew he was a Bomb Scare in that 1st Half 😤 Same Old Nighmares Every Year in Europe too many Players Go Hiding 🙁

100% on Lennon. Ajer at RB. Playing Rogic for 90 minutes when he can’t handle 60 in Scotland.
Cluj 2.0.

Lennon had a shocker tonight. Rogic (knees are finished, will be sold in summer) should’ve been off for griff at 60 mins. Simunovic should’ve been off for frimpong at 70, couldn’t get any play at all cause no-one wanted to give him the ball, hence their second goal. Threw it away

Lennon found out again. He’s not immune to criticism. Praise him when deserved but deserves all the criticism tonight

Absolute disgrace. Players should be ashamed

Embarassing. Only word for it. Manager and players hang your heads in shame

Absolutely embarrassing! Did we even turn up…. and we were home? One pathetic show

You have to think there will be a lot of reflecting and things said in the wake of the defeat, but Celtic also face a tough trip to Perth on Sunday so they need to get over this quickly.
