Reports: Celtic winger set for loan deal with former club

MARIAN SHVED has emerged as a loan target for former club Kaparty Lviv. The Ukrainian has failed to make any real impact since arriving at Celtic last May but reports are linking the winger with a return to his native Ukraine.

The Scottish Sun is reporting that Shved’s former club are keen on a loan deal if Neil Lennon allows the winger to leave for much needed game time. The winger signed in January 2019 but was loaned back until the conclusion of the 2018/19 campaign.

Despite a goalscoring debut, Shved has made just two more appearances for the Scottish Champions.

Shved was on the cusp of a Celtic exit back in January before Mikey Johnston was injured at McDiarmid Park forcing the manager to keep the 22-year-old as cover in the wide areas. The club were tempted by another loan offer to Spanish side Deportivo Lugo failed as Celtic blocked the move preferring an opportunity for Shved to speak English.

Last month, Lugo’s Ukrainian defender Vasyl Kravets revealed that his compatriot almost joined but Celtic would have preferred a move to improve his English.

“Marian almost signed for us on loan in the last transfer window. He was happy to come here.

“But Celtic blocked the move. They wanted him to sign for a team that was closer to Glasgow.

“He would only be allowed to move to a team where he could communicate in English, so the deal was off.”
