Mixed messages – Qatari interest in Rogic but no concrete offer has been made

SUPPORTERS that subscribe to the belief that Tom Rogic is the best technical player at Celtic have been given a glimmer of hope by the Daily Record’s report that there was no concrete offer from Qatar but interest remains in the talented Australian.

The report claims that Celtic have received an enquiry over the availability of Rogic but no offer has been received in the club’s quoted £4m price tag. The Daily Mail reported yesterday that the 27-year-old was set to disappear to Qatar but this remains to be seen.

Supporters will hope that either Rogic’s future is decided and if he is leaving then the money is reinvested but if he stays then he can get a run in the team. The Australian will always be immortal for that moment at Hampden in 2017 but left plenty lasting memories for supporters with late winners, majestic turns and also leaving a Rangers player in a heap when curling in a screamer.

With an injury record like Rogic, it appears that Celtic are willing to cash in for the midfielder but for Neil Lennon it would be difficult to replace a player of that quality. Hopefully there is a conclusion that results in a fully-fit Rogic helping Celtic to win 10IAR. That may be wishful thinking…
