Celtic’s defending in the First Half: “Compete Shambles”, “Embarrassing”, “would make ye burst into tears”

Celtic’s shambolic defensive performance in the first half against Sparta Prague has left some supporters with tears in their eyes. Odsonne Edouard gave Celtic an early lead but woeful defending send Celtic in at the interval 2-1 down and it was only the post that bothered defending right on the stroke of half-time to prevent Sparta scoring a third.

While the Celtic goal was outstanding the Prague goals were both shocking from a Celtic point of view. Jullien and Bain got into an absolute state to gift the second.

Celtic have started the second half well but have failed to get the equaliser in a match that they must win if they are to have any hopes of staying in the Europa League.
