Photos: New Fencing erected around Celtic Park ahead of expected Protest

Celtic appear to have erected new fencing around the front of the stadium presumably in anticipation of further fans protest on Sunday when St Johnstone are at Celtic Park on Premiership duties.

Last Sunday a few hundred fans descended on the stadium after the 2-0 home defeat to Ross County in the Betfred Cup and there are further protests planned this weekend via social media. The latest result, a 4-2 defeat away to AC Milan meant that Celtic have conceded more goals in the competition than any other side.

The board have backed Neil Lennon and his management team of John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan for now but it looks more a question of when and not if they leave the club.

Neil Lennon has told fans today that protests at the weekend will not help Celtic and should not occur. But with these fences going up it certainly looks like Celtic are anticipating a protest and are intent on keeping them back away from the sectioned off area for the team to stay with their bubble.

Meanwhile most Dundee Utd players have been told to self isolate and will miss their game at the weekend and also next weekend’s match when they play theRangers.
