Deal agreed – Celtic seal pre-contract for Ben Davies

Ben Davies has agreed a pre-contract with Celtic, according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph. Talks between the club and the player’s representatives have been successful with the 25 year old expected to agreeing a deal with the Scottish Nine-in-a-Row Champions.

There is also a chance that Davies could make the move to Celtic this month as the window looks to close. He would be then able to bed in and get up to speed with the club. PNE wanted £2m but with this news, a lowball effort before the window ending would be in the fashion of GMS in 2015.

The defender has over 150 appearances for PNE and has been linked with big money moves in the past. Although he has opted to come to Glasgow and play for silverware in Europe.

James McCarthy has also been linked with pre-contract moves; however, the team have missed out on players like Mark McKenzie, Ben Pearson, Filip Benkovic, Bright Osayi-Samuel as well as Alfie Doughty this window.

The move would be the first incoming signing as they plan on a big summer overhaul. Although, the outcome of the January Review remains outstanding and supporters are fearing that this may result in a number of big players deciding to jump ship.
