Moussa Dembele replied to the various messages he’s been receiving today from Celtic Supporters acknowledging the fifth anniversary of the popular French goalscorer signing for Celtic.
“5 years already since signing for CelticFC,” Dembele noted. “Until this day you guys are still grateful for the goals I scored and I will always be grateful for the love and recognition you have for me! #HH #Invincible #DoubleTrebleWinners #KingsOfScotland @dembelition” he tweeted.

And there’s plenty of mutual admiration going on in the replies with some supporters posting videos of their favourite Dembele goals, usually involving scoring against theRangers while others have been busy trying to entice him back to Paradise, sadly an unrealistic proposal.

While Dembele was a sensational signing for Celtic it’s not about enticing him back – that’s not happening anytime soon – it’s revisiting the strategy that allowed him to arrive in Glasgow in the first place. Odsonne Edouard too continued the French strikers’ success story at Celtic while we’ve had less good fortune with Oliver Ntcham, mostly down to attitude it would appear rather than ability. Christopher Jullien has been a decent signing too, despite having no luck with injuries.

Celtic have unearthed some tremendous French talent in recent years and it is a market we should not overlook going forward.
