Team’s Up – Fran Alonso names attack-minded Celtic side to play Motherwell

Celtic FC Women manager Fran Alonso has named his side for this evening’s match against Motherwell at the Penny Cars Stadium in Airdrie, where Celtic rather confusingly are actually the away side.

The Spanish coach goes with a starting eleven of Logan, Bartle, Shorts, Craig Shen, Chance, Donaldson, Toland, Wellings and Warrington. On the bench for Celtic are Johnstone, Larisey, Clark, Hayes, Gros, Bowie and McAllister.

The home side this evening, remember that’s Motherwell have also released their team selection for tonight’s match – Motherwell go with the following starting line-up: Ramsay, Connor,Crosbie, Watson, Whyte, Cunningham, Inglis, Hay, Crichton, Gardner, Hughes. Substitutes are Napier, Anderson, Cairney, Addie, Adams, McDonald, Nguah and Martin.

This game was postponed from the weekend before last due to Celtic having players away on international duty. It’s unusual for the Women’s team to play 3 games in a week and after the hard-fought 2-1 win over Hibs on Sunday afternoon Celtic have Motherwell this evening and then newly promoted Partick Thistle this weekend. Nine points are the target from Fran Alonso, who strangely didn’t speak to the media ahead of tonight’s game.

Kick-off this evening is at 8pm and Celtic will be looking to record a high scoring win as they push ahead with their impressive start to the season. COYGIG
