Sutton piles on the agony as Gerrard slips out of Ibrox

It’s safe to say the departure of the Ibrox entity’s much heralded “Messiah” has been met with more than a hint of schadenfreude amongst Celtic cyberspace. The silly question that was asked of Slippy merely a week or so ago was met with much vilification at the dare question of this man and his scruples and integrity.

Celtic fans are lapping it up as did the Ibrox hoards did when Brendan Rodgers had a midnight flit to the English town of Leicester. Now, Chris Sutton has piled on the agony which had been brewing over in Sevconia for the last 48 hours or so. Of course, he wished the departing Messiah of Govan all the best, but just couldn’t help bringing up the factual reality of Mr Gerrard’s time in Scotland.

A cheeky reference to the black and white evidence that Callum Davidson has been more successful than ‘The Chosen One’, caveated his congratulations on attaining a very lucrative job in the league dubbed as the best in the world.

Have a look at big Sutton’s running monologue on the whole affair via Twitter below…

About Author

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
