Yet another departure from the Celtic FC Women squad has been announced this morning with the news released by the club that Annie Timoney has returned to Glentoran after what turned out to be a short spell at the double cup winners.
Annie only joined Celtic at the end of January this year but failed to break into the side as Celtic’s season concluded in spectacular style with that Scottish Cup Final win over Glasgow City at Tynecastle on 29 May.
Fran Alonso has now lost six players from the squad from last season with just two incoming. Add to that the return of Lisa Robertson from her loan year at Birmingham and the welcome return to fitness of Natalie Ross but the numbers are still light.
Expect some Alonso magic in the transfer market shortly and best of luck to Annie back at Glentoran. She can always say that she played for Celtic!
