Brendan Rodgers is correct in delaying Adam Idah’s Celtic exit, it’s just a pity he didn’t do the same thing with Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn…

Rodgers called Idah back from Swansea where he had a medical
Brendan Rodgers caused a bit of a stir when he at the eleventh hour blocked Adam Idah’s proposed move to Swansea City. Despite that being the correct call, it’s left supporters asking, where was this sort of stance when Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn were sold from under him and no promised replacements forthcoming?
Kyogo of course was sold to Rennes for £10 million at the end of the January transfer window, leaving us rather short in the striking department heading into the second half of the season.

Maeda’s purple patch through the middle
Yes Daizen Maeda went onto have a purple patch as a centre forward which won him all sorts of Player of the Year honours and Adam Idah chipped in too with a 20 goal season contribution – not bad from a player mostly used as a substitute
The same thing happened over the summer when the Celtic board were all too willing to accept a bumper £17m bid from Como for the signature of Nicolas Kuhn and just thought they’d sort out a replacement in due course. Due course came after the Champions League playoff was thrown away and £40m lost – don’t ever tell me these are shrewd moneymen ever again!

No replacement for Kyogo since January
Similar to the Kyogo situation there was no replacement lined up for Kuhn, and with only days remaining in the summer transfer window, we still are looking for the replacement for Kyogo.
So I applaud Brendan Rodgers for taking such a stance and refusing to let another one of his main players leave without a ready made replacement. Enough is enough. I only wish he’d have taken this stance in July when the board couldn’t wait to sell Kuhn, having failed miserably to replace Kyogo.

Why couldn’t Brendan have adopted the same approach when other key players were sold from under him without any hesitation? He knows that this board are quick to sell but slow to buy and it’s not a trick that they’ll be allowed to get away with while Rodgers remains at the club.
It’s a pretty valid question to ask but it’s fair to say Brendan has got there in the end.

Three new signings tomorrow is what my colleague on The Celtic Star is reporting
So Adam idah will be sitting on the bench at Ibrox today and could be a Swansea player tomorrow – IF Celtic manage to get at least one striker signed. Lubo98 has posted on The Celtic Star this morning that a source very close to the action has advised him that multiple signing are coming in tomorrow. Let’s hope he’s right.

I think BR is wrong, he is doing that to prove a point. But he is doing it with the wrong player.
This offer for Idah is an opportunity they can’t miss. If the buyers change their mind today the board will loose money, ans we will end up with Idah in our renk. He isn’t good enough and will be uspset on the top of it.

More happy clapping nonsense. Brendan knew exactly how this board operates from his previous spell in charge. He was more than happy to accept the offer when it came calling again because he is a yes man for them. End of. Ange got players in immediately when windows opened, Brendan is more than happy to plod along as normal and take the easy money. He knows sevco are imploding and we are already 6 points clear and that will likely grow at the hands of other teams too. That’s why we get the no-risk football we seen today. Nothing gained, nothing lost. As soon as he, and the board want to be more than just a little bit better than Sevco, that’s what we will get but the reality is, nobody went to games when there was no competition so all parties involved need to keep the money coming in by keeping it interesting.
the lights will burning late into as the board counts the coffers they saved by not engaging in the transfer market , sure they will increase price for Europa League games , why don’t they just ban the fans , don’t seem interested in the anyway
