Sources confirm Celtic are targeting three transfer arrivals

Celtic are preparing for Sunday’s Glasgow Derby against theRangers at Ibrox. Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing UCL exit in Kazakhstan with a victory to put pressure on Russell Martin.

The Scottish Champions have had an underwhelming window thus far but have added quality in Kieran Tierney, Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Benji Nygren and Marcelo Saracchi.

On Saturday evening, sources close to the club confirmed to The Celtic Star that the club were hoping to add three players before the end of the window. This is expected to be in the forward line and could be two strikers and a winger or two wingers and a new striker.

Celtic are actively pursuing Kasper Dolberg from Anderlecht but no deal has been agreed with the Belgian club yet. The 55-cap Danish forward is believed to be worth north of £8m but Anderlecht are looking to get their own replacement before allowing the ex-Ajax and Nice striker to move on.

A number of wingers have been touted with moves to Celtic Park with Sebastian Tounekti and Jakob Breum the leading contenders. Celtic will require to pay in excess of £5m each for the wide men but so far, no deal has been done.

Swansea City are still interested in Adam Idah and this deal would likely result in two strikers being brought into the club. Likewise, if Yang’s proposed move to Birmingham City transpires then Celtic may look at a couple wingers to compete for spaces. It remains to be seen whether both will be involved from the start at Ibrox or whether they will be called upon from the bench.

The transfer window shuts at 11pm on Monday for Celtic and other Scottish teams. However, this could benefit Celtic as the English teams will have to have their deals done by 7pm.

Best of luck to the Bhoys at Ibrox today.

  1. Do you believe or trust this board or do you they greedily grabing all the money they can and keeping it,stop giving them your money

  2. No I think they are in a league that is money grabbing and run by clubs with season book sales that are below 7,000 compared to Celtic 60,000 and get the same vote like a corner shop having same say as Harrods and our board have the spl to sell to players three artificail pitches people dont relise your competing against epl wages that would break our club we dont pay players pennies but epl is way over the top if Celtic board could negotiate there own tv deal it would be a lot more than what we get now yes they are under the spl banner and get same vote tv money as livingston

  3. We need a right back we need CDM a winger and 2 strikers if Adam Idah leaves this board is inept and if we don’t get these players in now their should be some sackings at the club. In January the 3 wise men went to London and and came back with Jeffrey Schluup. People at this club needs to be sacked

  4. No what we need is a board who behave with honour integrity and dignity where their word is indeed their bond and celtic fans can believe and be confident and proud of the board ,this is the very least that should be guaranteed, stop giving them your money

  5. The key info is, no deal(s) has yet been done (although, appreciate the updates). I don’t trust them. Still bamboozling that they were prepared to sell our only fodt team striker without any replacement until the manager stopped them. That alone is insane. Good luck the Bhoys today
