Celtic’s Tannadice Test: Kick-Off, TV and Team News

Celtic head to Tannadice looking to keep their perfect start to the season intact, with a Scottish League Cup second-round tie against Dundee United kicking off Saturday teatime football for the Hoops support.

After the manner of that Kilmarnock demolition, there’s real appetite to see whether this Celtic team can carry that form into a cup tie away from home. Dundee United have been no pushovers at Tannadice in recent seasons, and this competition has a habit of throwing up awkward afternoons for sides expected to win comfortably.

Kick-Off Time and Venue

The tie takes place on Saturday, August 15, with kick-off at 5:45pm. It’s live at Dundee United’s home ground, The CalForth Construction Arena at Tannadice Park, a venue where Celtic will want to put right recent frustrations against this opposition.

Team News

Kasper Hogh will fancy adding to his tally after a hat-trick against Kilmarnock, and it’s exactly the kind of form Celtic need heading into a cup tie where goals can be hard to come by against determined lower-league opposition. Cameron Carter-Vickers could feature again having started against Killie following his long-term Achilles injury – a genuinely significant moment given how long he’s been out. Jota remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from a cruciate injury, a reminder of the toll this squad has taken over recent months, something touched on in our coverage of the Dundee season opener.
