Celtic academy prospect Conall Glancy has joined English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur…
The 16-year-old netted 15 times for Celtic’s U16 team during the 2024/25 season. Glancy has spent ten years at the Hoops and is capable of playing both as a right winger and in central positions.

He arrives at Spurs as a first-year scholar in their U18 squad. Glancy now joins a long list of Celtic academy players, including Ben Doak, Aidan Borland, and Rocco Vata, who have moved from Glasgow to clubs in England.
We are delighted to announce that Conall Glancy has joined our Academy from Celtic 🤝
The 16-year-old forward arrives as a first-year scholar in the Under-18s, joining the 11 players previously announced in that age category this summer.

Murray came on for Kieran Tierney in the 75th minute, with Liam Scales shifting to left-back, and Donovan was substituted onto the pitch for Anthony Ralston during extra time.
Amidst the disappointments on Tuesday – of which the list is endless – Donovan and Murray were excellent when they came on. Both showed composure on the ball and were positive with their passing which cannot be said for most of the players.

Ralston looked as if he came off the pitch with an injury which could even see Donovan being handed a start on Sunday at Ibrox.
While representing The Celtic Star at last Tuesday’s media conference with Brendan Rodgers, he signalled out Dane Murray for praise and said he would be comfortable putting him into any domestic fixture.
Well, why not on Sunday? The big centre-back has not put a foot wrong in games against Falkirk and Livingston and done well when he came on against Kairat on Tuesday evening.

Although the 22 year-old is competing with Cameron Carter-Vickers for that right centre-back position, there is no reason why he cannot play alongside him.
For far too long best academy talents have either moved to England or have not been given a first-team opportunity. That seems to be changing this season, and for the better.

Celtic must have more faith in guys like Donovan and Murray. It is just unfortunate that Glancy has moved on to England this early in his development. It’s perhaps something that would happen less going forward if the likes of Murray and Donovan open up a viable pathway from the Academy to the Celtic first team, something that hasn’t happened enough in recent times.
