‘Celtic know all about their troubles’ – It looks like the Rangers are coming

It never ceases to amaze the amount of exposure the Scottish mainstream media gives to the latest club that plays at Ibrox, and all of it in a supremely positive light…

Despite being in something of a transitional period, with new owners, a new rookie manager, and doubts over the future of several first team players, things are it seems all rosy over Govan way in the eyes of the Scottish print media anyway.

Granted they have signed half a dozen or so players, but its a mixture of loans, and players who were playing in the lower reaches of English football, but as always the Scottish hacks would have you believe that they were all proven Champions League level players.

It has now been claimed through a former player of theRangers that a goalkeeper on the books of English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday linked with a move to Ibrox is the best in the world! Just days after they signed a guy from the same side who’s also talked about in the same bracket.

Sheffield Wednesday are a club in crisis, players have not been paid and the football authorities down south are diligence in enforcing their rules, unlike in Scotland back in 2012 when all sorts of sweetheart deals were provided to ensure that some form of ‘Rangers’ would survive the liquidation of Rangers FC which had around reportedly around £100m in unpaid creditors, the biggest being Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

Now it seems that several world class players are strutting their stuff at Hillsborough these days, so why not sell them for huge sums to easy their financial worries? And it also makes you wonder why Sheffield Wednesday finished 12th in England’s second tier last season when they had players good enough to play in a Champions League or World Cup final.

Celtic supporters have seen it all before. Every summer theRangers, and Rangers FC before them, are magnificent when there’s no competitive football being played. Things tend to go downhill quickly after that so with a $100 free chip no deposit you’d be tempted to stick it all on theRangers scooping everything going this season including the Champions League itself.

Meanwhile there will be crisis meetings at clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal to work out what to do about theRangers scooping up all the best players in World football at their own expense. Tough times lie ahead for these English Premier League giants and indeed for Celtic – who have won 13 of the last 14 titles, only failing in the Covid behind closed doors season.

That domination is bound to end with the unbelievable signings coming in at Ibrox.Let’s ne honest, if you had to select a combined Celtic/theRangers team by the start of the season it’s starting to look like none of the Bhoys wearing the Hoops would get a place. theRangers are looking that good. Or at least that how it looks if you’re a reader of Daily Record and the other Scottish papers.
