Celtic to get back to business next season, claims club icon

It has been a disastrous season in terms of defending the 10IAR for Celtic. 23 points behind those down the road has signalled in the sacking of Neil Lennon, the concession of both cup competitions, and a harder route to Champions League qualification on top of that. However it could be argued that the turmoil started long, long before that with the disregards of planning for the future.

“I don’t think it’s impossible to catch Rangers next season, I think it’s possible with a new manager and new players and attractive football.

However, club icon Lubomir Moravcik has claimed that next season’s task to overtake TheRangers is easier than it appears on paper; some meticulous planning from those in charge, alongside a proven successful manager and Celtic could well be on their way to regaining the power of the Scottish League.

Speaking on The Celtic Huddle Podcast podcast, with quotes attributed to The Glasgow Times, the Czechoslovakian said: “It depends on the transfer market and the quality of players [the new manager]can bring inWe need players who can play quick and are technically good.”

“It must be attractive football, that’s the most important thing, because I hope that fans will be back in the stadium and that will also motivate the players for the new season. “Celtic are going to be a better team, I’m sure.”

“I watched Rangers against Slavia Prague twice, and Rangers for me are not such a strong team. It’s a good team, but I don’t think it is a team full of stars or great players. It’s very solid because they have worked hard with the coach and the manager, but I think Celtic are 23 points behind because this season it was over very early. In December it was finished for Celtic.”

Lubo is no stranger to what it takes to create success from theRangers bettering Celtic in the Scottish game. Despite only being at Celtic Park for four years from 1998-2002, Lubo won two Scottish Premier League titles, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup, with all five major honours coming in his final two years at the club.

“It’s not going to be easy, Rangers dominated the league this season. But I saw that their last five or six results were 1-0 or 2-1. It was not 5-0 or 6-0. “I don’t think it’s impossible to catch Rangers next season, I think it’s possible with a new manager and new players and attractive football.

  1. We will need a great deal of luck to win the title next season we are losing 6 or 7 players (and good ridence to them) so need to bring in as many, then we have to gel them together as a team and get them used to playing with each other, which could take months.
