Como seal €28m deal to sign winger, what it means for Nicolas Kühn

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Serie A side Como have reached an agreement worth €28m for Jesus Rodriguez. The 19-year-old is expected to swap Real Betis for the ambitious Italians, who are managed by Cesc Fabregas.

Fabregas is in the market for attackers and has been heavily linked with Nicolas Kühn from Celtic. However, it is reported that the Scottish Champions have insisted that they don’t need to sell the German.

Romano took to Twitter on Saturday to confirm the deal for Rodriguez but it is a move that could have ramifications for Celtic and Kühn.

Rodriguez’s move comes after a breakthrough season in La Liga. Rodríguez burst onto the scene in late 2024, graduating from Real Betis’s youth ranks to carve a role as a dynamic left winger. By season’s end he had amassed 21 La Liga appearances with two goals, alongside contributions in the Copa del Rey and Conference League, spelling a total of 44 senior outings with five goal involvements.

It begs the question, how much is Kühn worth? If £20m is the going rate for a youngster that has had an impressive six months, where does it leave a player that posted impressive numbers as well as made an impact in the Champions League?

Fabregas wants two wingers and with Rodriguez done, it may now result in interest turning towards Celtic’s No.10. Since arriving from Rapid, Kühn has made 51 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 21 goals and assisting on 15 occasions with Brendan’s side winning four trophies.
