LEIGH GRIFFITHS has responded to the earlier message from Celtic legend John Hartson who marked the occasion of the current Celtic Number 9 overtaking him in the goalscoring charts at the club with a heartfelt message for Griffiths.
“Honoured to have passed such a club icon in big John Hartson,” was the Celtic striker’s response.

Hartson had earlier posted his own message saying: “Stood for 14 years ! Couldn’t be more happier for Leigh.. now go and get yourself 200.”
Griffiths equalled Hartson’s tally of 110 goals for Celtic on Sunday at Hamilton and surpassed it by scoring his 111th goal for the Hoops in the 4-0 win against Motherwell on Wednesday night.
Johnny Campbell (113) is the next Celt who Griffiths will be out to surpass with Bobby Collins next (117) and then both Harry Hood and Brian McClair, both having scored 121 goals for Celtic.
Jimmy McColl (123), Dixie Deans (124) and Charlie Nicholas (125) could all be caught this season by goal machine Leigh Griffiths.
Stood for 14 years ! Couldn’t be more happier for Leigh.. now go and get yourself 200. 👏🏻👏🏻🍀 https://t.co/ElErEqYPbR
