Doing business with genocide complicit sides is a stain on our club, but just remember that the player involved has done nothing wrong…

The Celtic Board are close to securing the signature of Ivorian winger Jocelin Ta Bi for a fee of £2 million from Israeli side Maccabi Netanya, after he caught the eye whilst out on loan to fellow Israeli side Hapoel Petah Tikva.
The deal has caused a bit of a stir, and with great justification due to the selling club being knowingly complicit in the Israeli regime’s ongoing illegal pursuit of wiping out of existence Palestine.
Complicit in genocide
Maccabi Netanya are owned by Aliya Capital Partners, a corporation who have invested the hefty sum of £30 million in Israeli drone company Xtend who have profited massively by selling thousands of drones, including armed ones to the Israeli military in their barbaric aim of wiping out the Palestinian population.

Yes, Maccabi Netanya are knowingly complicit in genocide, and our club who were formed to help the oppressed of the world, are openly doing business with them, tarnishing our club by association. Maybe not on the same scale, but it goes against our moral code and our identity, shaming our club in a massive way. Our founding fathers will be spinning in their graves.
It once again shows how much disdain our custodians have for not only the values of the club, but the supporters who are appalled by the cruel acts that are being committed on a daily basis by the Israeli regime.

Jocelin Ta B unsurprisingly jumped at chance to move to Celtic
One man who is caught up in this sordid situation is the player himself, Jocelin Ta Bi who unsurprisingly jumped at chance to move to Celtic. I mean he’s a 20 year old boy from humble beginnings, and the mere chance of signing for a big club such as our own and all the personal and professional perks that come with it, is one that he couldn’t possibly turn down.
The Ivory Coast starlet is apparently on his way to Celtic to complete a £2million move to the Scottish champions Ta Bi is clearly delighted to make the move, saying: “Playing for a club like Celtic is a dream come true for me. “I am going to fulfil a big dream, at a famous club and in one of the best stadiums in the world.”
My only concern is that he could perhaps be unfairly targeted by some due to the complexity and moral issues regarding the entire deal.

Jocelin will get a warm welcome from Celtic supporters
We can contest the situation surrounding the deal and call the club out, which is the right thing to do. But we should also bear in mind that the player has done nothing wrong and should welcome him the same way we would with all new signings.
I am sure that will be the case and Jocelin will get a warm welcome and will also be judged solely on his football ability and commitment to the Celtic cause and not on the club we signed him from. He has nothing to do with the dismay supporters have regarding our board sending millions of pounds to Israel and into the hands of those working towards such an evil objective against the Palestinian people.
