Celtic’s Champions League rivals Lazio have confirmed that Luis Alberto has agreed a new four-year deal. The Serie A side announced on Monday evening that the Spaniard had put pen to paper on a new contract ahead of their trip to Glasgow to face Celtic in the UEFA Champions League.
The 30-year-old, who played under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, has been a vital figure within the Rome clubโs squad since arriving in 2016.

Lazio paid just โฌ4m for the midfielder, who has made 271 appearances for the Italians, scoring 49 goals and assisting 70 times. They will be hoping that he has an impact when Maurizio Sarriโs side arrive in Glasgowโs East End.
Alberto was helpless to stop Celtic back in 2019 when Neil Lennonโs side won 2-1 home and away against the visitors from the Capital of Italian. Hopefully, there is a repeat of the result on Wednesday when the teams meet on Matchday Two of the Champions League.
Celtic have had quite a good week with regards to players signing long-term deals with Matt OโRiley and Reo Hatate committing to new contracts. The Scottish Champions will be keen to record their first points of the UCL campaign after a defeat to Feyenoord in Rotterdam.
