Newcastle United have confirmed the sale of Sean Longstaff to Leeds United ahead of their visit to Celtic Park. Over four years after he was expected to takeover as Celtic manager, Eddie Howe will be in the dugouts for Newcastle for the pre-season friendly as both sides ramp up their preparations for the new season.
Newcastle confirmed on the eve of the fixture that they had sold Academy product, Longstaff, to Leeds. The deal worth £12m plus £4m in add-ons sees Longstaff swap Newcastle for Elland Road.

The St James’ Park side travel to Glasgow in great numbers for the Adidas Trophy. Around 8000 Geordies are expected to be in Celtic Park for the game, which will likely be a hugely competitive fixture.
Celtic, meanwhile, will look to compete in the fixture in preparation for another tilt at Champions League football. Newcastle showcase their quality as the secured the League Cup with a memorable win over Liverpool at Wembley.
