As the Hoops dropped points to one half of the Edinburgh divide, Hearts climbed to the summit of the Scottish Premiership with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Falkirk at Tynecastle – a story that is now sure to spark conversation after the confident declarations from the new Jambo investors during the summer.
Nevertheless, McGregor, who has collected ten league winners’ medals, remained unfazed by Hearts’ strong start to the season given that we are only in September. Here’s Calmac speaking to Celtic TV after the game.
The Celtic skipper also spoke to the mainstream media post match, via Daily Record: “We’re six games in. Maybe at 36 games you start looking at the table, but no way six games in. It’s such a long season, there’s so much football to be played.
“We’re thinking about performance, we’re trying to get up to speed. I’m sure if we play like that, then we’ll amass enough points to be where we want to be.”
McGregor added: “It’s in the first round of fixtures, so anyone can get off to a good start. So if you win the games that are in front of you, then you collect enough points.”

“Our objective over 38 games is to finish top of the league, so we can judge it when that happens.”
McGregor’s belief that Celtic are improving, despite the Hibs setback, will face its first challenge on Thursday when Portuguese outfit Braga arrive for the Europa League, with the midfielder confident his team can regain their rhythm.
“If we play like that on Thursday night, then I’m pretty sure we’ll win the game,” McGregor said. “We’ve been looking for rhythm and searching for that rhythm. I think Saturday was probably as good as it’s been in that football sense.”

Celtic through 6 League matches this century.
The 8 goals scored are easily the 2nd fewest. WTH happened in 18-19 when they only had 6? Oh yeah, Dembele left.
In the last 6 seasons, Celtic had averaged 19 goals through 6 matches.
From what I’ve seen, it won’t get better soon. pic.twitter.com/TNOG9Kw8sO
