‘Pedestrian,’ ‘absolutely devoid of ideas, it’s laboured, it’s slow…’ Celtic Fans TV reaction

“Absolutely devoid of ideas, it’s laboured, it’s slow…”

“We will struggle to get 7 points from this group.”

A fairly negative post-match assessment from the Celtic supporters leaving the stadium last night, which is worrying given that these interviews took place just after the euphoria caused by Leigh Griffiths’ dramatic late winner.

There used to be a chant down south from the Gunner fans that went something like ‘One nil to the Arsenal,’ on the premise that their defence was so solid that they just needed to nick one goal to get the victory.

It was a badge of honour for the Arsenal fans at the time but it is certainly never going to be a badge worn by the Celtic supporters – ‘One Nil to the Celtic’ is never going to get any traction from the support who prefer their football to be beautiful, inventive and attacking.

“True to our recent form, it wasn’t vintage Celtic but we got the 3 points right at the death thanks to a great header from Leigh Griffiths. After a long night of few chances, Griff made the difference from the bench latching on to a Dedryck Boyata header across the goal to nod home his 101st goal for the club,” the Celtic Fans TV guys noted.

In this new video the guys discuss another sluggish performance, ask whether it should be Griffiths or Edouard up front – maybe the question should be should Brendan play BOTH? The supporters try to predict how many points Celtic will get in this group, with some revising down their estimates after last night’s showing and the Man of the Match decision to give it to Kieran Tierney is well received.

Great stuff as usual from Celtic Fans TV.
