Sky Sports close Barry door on Celtic but Nazinho seems likely

Celtic have been credited with a strong interest in Portuguese under 21 left back Falvio Nazinho who currently Ply’s his trade for Belgian side Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Pro League…

Earlier today Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports reported that Celtic are ‘exploring’ the conditions of a deal for the 21 year old.

The player who recently starred at the under 21 Euros alongside Celtic’s Paulo Bernardo started his career at Sporting club in Lisbon before moving to Belgium last summer on a permanent basis after impressing Cercle bosses during a loan spell at the club.

Nazinho who is contracted to Cercle until 2028 signed for the Belgian side for a fee of €2 million, so it goes without saying that they will be looking to at least double their outlay especially with it being rumoured that Sporting are due a 15% percentage of any sale.

Nazinho fits our player trading model. He’s young, he’s experienced, he has great potential, and would provide perfect cover for Kieran Tierney at left back. I think it’s time the club done less ‘exploring’ and took more action in luring the player to Glasgow.

Meanwhile one player we can – yet again – strike off the possible incomings list in this transfer window is Aston Villa’s Louie Barry who is heading back out on loan, this time to Sheffield United for the new season.

Anthony Joseph from Sky Sports updated on this one this evening stating:

‘Aston Villa winger Louie Barry is expected to join Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal. The player is due to arrive at Sheffield United next week. Barry has had interest from other clubs including Celtic and Hull City, who signed him on loan in January.’
