Steven Naismith has named his Hearts team for this afternoon’s game against Celtic. The Tynecastle side have travelled across the M8 from Edinburgh to face Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic as domestic football returns after the international break.
Naismith has named Celtic Invincible in goals for the game in a surprising move given that Zander Clark has been widely used as the No.1 keeper by Naismith since he became Hearts boss.
Hearts XI: Gordon, Taylor, Kingsley, Halkett, Rowles, Penrice, Boateng, Baningime, Grant, Vargas, Shankland.
Subs: Clark, Kent, Oyegoke, Devlin, Spittal, Forrest, Dhanda, Musa, Salazar.
Meanwhile, Brendan has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s game.
Celtic: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Kuhn, Maeda, Kyogo.
Subs: Sinisalo, Trusty, Palma, Idah, Valle, McCowan, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston.
The Jambos have just one point from their opening four league games, an opening day draw with Rangers. Naismith’s team were dumped out the Europa League and the League Cup in the opening weeks of the season, too.
Naismith led Hearts to two victories over Celtic last season, including a win at Celtic Park. The former Rangers midfielder has endured a tough start to the season with some calling for him to be removed from his post. Celtic can make things more difficult for Naismith & Co.
