Team’s Up – Yang starts for Celtic, CCV and Shin on bench

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has named a strong team for this evening’s pre-season friendly against Ajax. The Scottish Champions are in Italy as part of the Como Cup and face the Dutch side.

Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals.

In defence, Dane Murray and Liam Scales make up the central pairing with Tony Ralston at right back with Kieran Tierney at left back.

The midfield three is made up of skipper Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Benjamin Nygren.

In attack, Adam Idah starts through the middle with Yang and Daizen Maeda in the wide areas.

Subs: Sinisalo, Doohan, Rice, Trusty, McCowan, Shin, Osmand, Carter-Vickers, Tilio, Inamura, Engels, Bernardo, Summers, Forrest & Donovan.

The game kicks off at 7:30pm (Celtic Park Time) and is available on Celtic TV for subscribers.

Celtic thumped Premier League side Newcastle United last week as goals from Arne Engels, Johnny Kenny, Yang and Liam Scales beat the English League Cup winners. Brendan’s side will be hoping to continue their preparations with a win against Ajax before setting up a game against with Al Ahli or Como.
