DAVID POTTER’S CELTIC QUIZ 1980-1999 – THE ANSWERS…

1. Grandson of a famous Celtic player who scored for Dundee United against Celtic in the Scottish Cup final of 1988. ANSWER is Kevin Gallacher.

2. Surname of family in which two brothers won Scottish Cup medals in the 1920s and in the 1980s as well. ANSWER is McStay.

3. Known as “Jackie” and hailed as a possible saviour of the club, this Eastern European gentleman sadly failed to reach his potential. Christian name, Dariusz Surname, Dziekanowski.

4. Appointed by the Old Board as a “spokesman” for their inadequacies, this gentleman frequently embarrassed the club in TV interviews. Terry Cassidy.

5. A brilliant football player, he left for England in 1983 to the immense distress of his fans. Charlie Nicholas.

6. Believed to have pioneered the idea of the “huddle”, this man sadly disappointed both as a player and (later) as a manager. Tony Mowbray.
