Ange looks forward to seeing Strachan’s input

Ange Postecoglou has revealed he has already had a long talk with Celtic legend and returning footballing consultant Gordon Strachan, following the Scotsman’s appointment as Celtic’s project management figure.

Strachan, 64, had been in a technical director’s role at Dundee FC, and it was expected he would leave ‘The Dee’ following his move to Celtic; however, he will join The Bhoys’ to oversee the academy, B team, women’s side and the first team’s culture whilst staying in his role in Dens Park.

It represents the first return back to Paradise for the wee Edinburgh-born man since he was Celtic chief from 2005-2009, in which he claimed multiple scalps in the Champions League over giants Manchester United and AC Milan.

It is unknown what Strachan will do in his role in terms of helping the club; however, given that he knows Celtic inside out as not only a Scotsman but a former manager, there is a big expectation that his consultancy will only help improve Celtic Football Club as a whole.]

Speaking to the media, Ange recognised this – claiming that he could tell straight away Gordon was the man to bear the importance of the role.

I have met Gordon and he is a very passionate football person which I kind of like.

The information I have had is that we are keen to tap into his knowledge of the club in terms of some of the structures around the club, particularly around the academy and women’s football which I think is really important infrastructure-wise.

But again, how much that comes on my radar at the moment, this is probably the first time I have thought about it.
