Celtic youngster starts for Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town

Celtic’s Bosun Lawal has been named in the Fleetwood Town team for their game against Derby County this afternoon. The Irish central defender signed a new contract with the Scottish Champions before heading for the EFL with Celtic legend Scott Brown.

Broony has already signed Scott Robertson (transfer) and Adam Montgomery (loan) but added Lawal to his ranks. The big defender made his Celtic debut against Morton earlier this year but was keen to be playing regular first team football. Robertson also starts today but there’s no sign of Montgomery today.

The opportunity to do that at Fleetwood will be invaluable to his progression and Rodgers will likely be watching from afar.

Brown has clearly used his Celtic contacts to facilitate the deals for Montgomery and Lawal. Brown and Rodgers are quite close and the Celtic manager will trust his former captain to continue to improve and develop these youngsters.
