Opinion – Make Aberdeen an offer they can’t refuse for Miovski

Pay Aberdeen what’s needed for Miovski, £4.5m should do it and don’t make the same mistake as we did with Steven Fletcher…

It’s not a secret we are in need of a centre forward, a clinical one at that. Even more so now with the news that Oh has been called up to the South Korean squad for next month’s Asian Cup. I don’t know the script with Kyogo, but with him being out of sorts and not really a favourite of the Japanese national manager, it looks unlikely he will be picked for the Japan side heading to the same competition.

But you never know, and if we also lose the services of Kyogo too we will be in huge trouble. That makes it all the more important we sign a centre forward. Not a project player or loan signing, but someone who is proven in front of goal. Someone with real quality and a presence.

That someone is on our own doorstep in the shape of Bojan Miovski

That someone is on our own doorstep in the shape of Bojan Miovski. The big North Macedonian striker is a fantastic striker who has scored 14 goals in 27 games in all competitions this season so far. Forget Lawrence Shankland, Miovski for me is the better player. He’s more mobile and does more off the ball than the Hearts  goalscorer. He would be much better suited to our playing system in my opinion.

He’s also younger and would have a better resale value, something our board love so much. He won’t come cheap though. Figures in The £6 million bracket have been spoken of, but I reckon £4.5 million would be enough for the Dons to part with their star striker.

We can afford that and we should spend it. Miovski is a superb player, he knows the way to goal and he knows our league. He would fit into our style of play with ease. It’s a no brainer.

Stephen Fletcher

Remember all those years ago when Gordon Strachan wanted Steven Fletcher from Hibs? The board choked at the thought of spending £3 million on him despite him being a quality player. We didn’t and of course lost the league that year as a result. Hopefully we don’t make the same mistake again.

Time to spend and spend big if we want to successfully defend our title.

  1. Totally agree , its an open goal imo , but unfortunately our board is Diana Ross , Hail hail .

    • Tomorrow is the day we all stand together and defeat this enemy who the football authorities back every time.
Tomorrow I hope and pray we play our best football and destroy their hope of defeating the celtic.

  2. We can postpone the games if we have 3 away on international duty. That’s what I’d do rather than buy Miovski.
