The media has us as underdogs just like last time and that suits us fine

We are seen by most as underdogs for this game, but wasn’t it the same last time out? And look what happened…

Not long now until kick off in the biggest game of the season so far. Yes it’s Glasgow Derby time once again, and the excitement is now going through the roof.

We head into this game just like the last one, apparently as underdogs. Yes I know we are at home and with a full crowd behind us, but we haven’t been at our best lately while our opponents seem to have gathered a bit of momentum. The bookmakers will have us as slight favourites, but the media and rival supporters won’t see it that way and will all be expecting to see theRangers triumph.

Even some of our own supporters aren’t confident in us getting a result ahead of the game but that will surely change by 12.30pm tomorrow lunchtime.

But just like that last game we shoved all that to the side and focused on the task in hand. Brendan Rodgers is a quality manager and seems to pull all the cards out his sleeve when it comes to the crunch moments. He lives and breathes these games and seems to relish the challenge. It’s the only game up here he will feel that way about and perhaps that’s why he seems to get most things right in the big games.

Make no mistake, he will have a game plan for tomorrow and he will be making sure the players are all up for it as well as following all his instructions to the letter. Brendan has been there and done it, he knows what tomorrow is all about, and he knows the importance of getting all three points.

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. But the bookies don’t they only support the money and the stats get your money on even for Celtic win and -2 for Celtic 9/1

  2. The fans will give the boys great support if Celtic go at them with pace we will beat them there defence not the quickest but it’s all down to the players and tactics but we are at home so I expect a win but as we know the officials are not to be trusted .

  3. Eh? We are the bookies favourites but we are underdogs in the media? You have provided zero evidence of this media view, though, apart from anecdotal verbage about “they will want us to lose”.

I do realise you are banging the drum, and you may be right, but it also might be interesting to read a wee sample of some of the stuff they may have written.
