Celtic v St Johnstone: team news, referee details, KO time & where to watch

Celtic travel to Perth to face St Johnston in this evening’s Premiership encounter. The Scottish Champions will look to go back to the top of the table, as Aberdeen currently lead in Dundee.

Team News

Celtic will be without Cameron Carter-Vickers this evening as the USA Internationalist continues to suffer from a toe injury. Brendan’s side will be looking to continue their brilliant start to the season, facing off against the managerless Saints.

The manager will likely look to manage his first team’s involvement, especially given the quick turnaround before Tuesday’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.

Kasper Schmeichel will start in nets. The Dane is yet to concede on league duty with Celtic.

The backline will likely consist of Alistair Johnston, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor.

In midfield, expect Callum McGregor to be joined by Arne Engels and Reo Hatate.

In attack, you would expect Kyogo to lead the line with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn on the flanks.

Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Johnston, Trusty, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Kühn, Kyogo, Maeda.

Referee Details

Experienced referee Don Robertson has been named as the whistleblower for the clash. The 37-year-old will be assisted by Daniel McFarlane and Craig Ferguson. Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Alan Muir is on VAR duties with Graeme Leslie assisting.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 17:45 (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

The game has been selected as part of Premier Sports allocation of SPFL fixtures as they look to market Saturday night football. Coverage begins on Premier Sports 1 at 17:15 with build up for the game.

The game will be shown on Celtic TV for subscribers outside Britain & Ireland.
