Report: Celtic open to £300k sale of Brendan signing

Celtic are reportedly open to selling midfielder Kwon this summer. Despite arriving during Brendan Rodgers’ first summer after his return to the club in 2023, the South Korean youth internationalist has failed to make an impact at Celtic Park.

The 24-year-old is yet to make a competitive appearance for Celtic but struggled against Athletic Club in James Forrest’ Testimonial. Celtic loaned him to St Mirren for the second half of 2023/24 season, in which he impressed and was well received in Paisley.

Despite The Buddies wanting Kwon to return, Celtic sanctioned a move to join David Gray’s, where he made 22 appearances. The Hibs supporters had mix reviewed about the player but they will likely be to do with the success from late November onwards when Hibs went from 12th to 3rd in the table.

Now, it is reported that Celtic are willing to sell the player for £300k with Austria Vienna eager to sign the player. As reported by Fußball Europa, the Austrian outfit are one of a number of teams interested in the player.

Celtic are eager to clear out the squad players that do not have a future at the club. Kwon could make another loan exit but it is clear that he is not fancied by Brendan. The manager has made it clear that he wants quality added to the squad, the club have the cash to make this happen but will want to free up space in the dressing room.
