Brendan Rodgers addresses Odsonne Edouard to Celtic rumour

Brendan Rodgers has poured cold water on any suggestions that Celtic may be considering a move for Odsonne Edouard. The French striker looks set to depart Crystal Palace this summer after an unhappy loan spell on loan at Leicester City and a report had linked him with a return to Glasgow.

As reported by The Sun, when asked about Edouard after the 2-0 win over Portuguese Champions Sporting Lisbon, Rodgers confirmed that the player was not on his radar, effectively ruling out a move.

“Odsonne hasn’t been on my radar, to be fair.

“I obviously know him but it’s about a player who will fit into the structure of the team.”

Celtic have already signed Callum Osmand from Fulham and are closing in on a deal to sign Shin Yamada from the J-League in a £1.5m swoop. Adam Idah has already put his hand up to become the first choice pick at the club but faces competition. The rued first half misses from the Irishman will have weighed on his mind.

  1. Lubo's Boots on

Albeit Idah didn’t score today, we won via 2 midfielder goals and the no.1 spot is still his to lose. It’s still preseason. His sharpness will improve. I’d fancy him to score against Newcastle.
BR comment on Edouard somewhat amusing…
