Celtic are reportedly considering making a move for Lorient striker Sambou Soumano. The Scottish Champions are keen on the Senegalese striker, who played and scored against Rennes.
According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Celtic have registered their interest in the 24-year-old with a view to making a formal move in the coming days.
Soumano scored 14 goals in just 11 starts, which attracted interest from Sunderland, Brentford and Burnley. Although, no moves have been forthcoming, which means that Celtic could make a move.
The 6ft forward looks to have the profile of a Brendan Rodgers striker, which will allow him to supplement the attacking options. Celtic will be attracted to the pace and power of Soumano.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were in the market for attacking options and are set to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha, who is closing in on a £5m move to Celtic from Royal Antwerp. Celtic are reportedly working on adding another full back and winger to their ranks in the coming days but it begs the question as to why it has taken Celtic to this stage in the window to get their ducks in a row.
