Celtic are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sell Adam Idah to Swansea City. The Irish striker missed Celtic’s opening penalty against Kairat, which ultimately contributed to the UCL exit.
However, it appears that a shock move could be in the offing as Championship side Swansea are negotiating a deal with Celtic over a £7m deal.
UPDATE: Swansea City are closing in on the signing of Celtic striker Adam Idah.
It’s understood a deal in the region of £7m is nearing an agreement.
If agreed, Idah could head to Swansea for a medical in the next 48 hours. https://t.co/UM5jzvOAz7

Idah was sensational in his loan spell in 2024, scoring nine vital goals that helped Celtic towards a Double. The striker found the net in the Scottish Cup Final with the game poised to go to extra time. On the back of this, Celtic secured a permanent deal for the player paying £9m to Norwich City.
Despite never hitting the heights of that loan spell, Idah still found the net on 20 occasions last season. The big forward man has struggled to cope with the pressure of being Celtic’s main striker since Kyogo left, resulting in Daizen Maeda coming through the middle and becoming the POTY in Scotland.
The deal has come out of the blue somewhat. Although, Sun Sport are reporting that Celtic are looking at ex-Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg as a replacement for Idah. The 27-year-old is set to be available by Anderlecht for a fee in the region of £8m.
With 55 caps to his name, Dolberg is certainly of a quality pedigree. The striker has netted five goals in eight appearances this season, continuing his fine form from last year in which he netted 24 goals.
There will be a frustration that Celtic have waited until the last stages of the window to get their business done. It will be a shame to see Idah go as he’s a young player with a lot of good attributes but it hasn’t fallen for him recently.
WTF. Get rid of Idah to sign another Idah. Dolberg has about the same career goals vs games stats as Idah.
This club is done. The 90s sucked but the nonsense going on at every level at the club right now is in another league.
Burn it all down and start again.
New owner, board, scouting team, manager, captain.
Every one of them have turned the club I love into a forever to be provincial backwater.
Watch the fireworks if Sevco win on the weekend.
I agree with everything you typed Dan, I think we’re supposed to be relieved it’s not vardy we’re signing so support will take anyone, a situation our board of accountants has dozed into. No Europa League package for me and I’m not in the HCTScheme as I’m hoping to hit them in the only place they care about, income, mind there were still tickets available just before KK for Almaty game, think of that, Celtic NOT selling out for a CL game, under the lights, unheard of.
There’s always been lights.
It’s all too little too late. I cancelled my HCTS on Tuesday night after the game. The manager might not have had the players to play his beloved 4-3-3. .He did have players to play 4-4-2 full backs overlapping puttcrosses into the box. We’d have won both legs in my humble opinion
Fans should be careful of thinking new owners and new board would automatically change things for the better. That’s what fans at, say, Man Utd and theRangers thought too! Be careful what you wish for as Neil Lennon once said. Still the club definitely needs to be a lot more pro-active in the transfer market and employ a proper public relations person/dept to communicate properly with fans. Rodgers has never signalled any intention of extending his contract and I feel we now need to appoint a top coach with fresh ideas next summer anyway Imv Rogers has been woefully inadequate as a tactical manager for some time now culminating in the horror-shows against Kairat. Even given the current dire situation at Ibrox I’m not at all confident of winning or even drawing there on Sunday, which speaks volumes sadly.
Spot on
It’s sabotage … and a slap in the face for Rodgers and the fans.
