Celtic striker Kelechi Iheanacho shared a heartwarming picture on social media after he helped Celtic win 2-1 at Rugby Park. The Nigerian striker, who joined as a free agent to a muted response, stepped up and scored from the spot.
The image, which was shared on Instagram, showed Celtic’s match winner embracing Brendan Rodgers after the game. The pair enjoyed a successful spell at Leicester City, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield.
With Celtic in the market for a striker, Rodgers managed to attract Iheanacho to Celtic Park after he negotiated to be released by Seville.

After leaving Leicester for Sevilla, Iheanacho endured a tough time in La Liga with a spell with English Championship outfit Middlesbrough. It was clear that this was a big moment for him as it helped settle him into life at Celtic. Both Rodgers and the ex-Man City youngster will hope that their linkup can prove successful.
Iheanacho will take a while to get up to speed and will likely require to work as an option off the bench for Celtic. However, it was clear from his cameo that he has quality in his locker and a number of his touches will have excited the manager.
