THE FIXTURE lists for the new season were released earlier today and Celtic’s flag-day opponents at Celtic Park will be St Johnstone on 3 August. On 10 August we travel through to Fir Park, presumably with David Turnbull in the side, to play his old club Motherwell. Hearts are the visitors to Celtic Park on 24 August and there will be the usual struggle for tickets the next weekend – 31 August when we take only 800 supporters to Ibrox.
Neil Lennon will be looking for a strong start and four early wins will be a perfect way to start the 9IAR campaign.
St Johnstone’s last visit to Celtic Park ended in a 5-0 win for the Champions with Scotty Sinclair scoring a het-trick and both captain Scott Brown and Player of the Year James Forrest both getting on the scoresheet.
