Lazio v Celtic – Mass in Rome, a Principled Support with Dreams and Songs to Sing

CELTIC SUPPORTERS flocked to to a specially arranged Mass in Rome this morning.

“A beautiful Mass concelebrated by 6 priests in the fabulous Church of St Ignazio for the Celtic support in Rome. Thanks to the students of the Pontifical Scots College for organising the Mass. A special occasion for everyone there,” The Celtic Trust tweeted.

The Media have been predicting all sorts of horrible things await Celtic fans in Rome after the support stood up against a repugnant right wing Lazio support who marched through Glasgow with their offensive ‘Roman Salutes’ two weeks ago.

Amazingly these Lazio Ultras have been bonding with the Rangers support on social media, just when they are in full Poppy mode after holding October’s Remembrance Day event at Ibrox with their big army artillery gun aimed towards the East End of the City.

Remembrance Day is actually in November but as someone said, they are trying to out-remember everyone else, while actively supporting those who still follow the political theory of the ‘Italian War-time leader’ as the BBC’s Chris McLaughlin famously described Mussolini.

This tweet sums it up.

The Football Italia site seems much less keen on the Lazio support that the Ibrox fans, judging by this.

Here’s some reaction to the worrying news that two Celtic fans suffered minor injuries last night after the bar they were in was attacked by a group of Lazio Ultras.

Still, everyone in Rome must remain vigilant and follow the advice that has been issued by the club, including this update from this morning.

Most seemed to be tucked up in bed early last night with very few parties taking place.

In fact the Celtic support’s spirits were high as excitement mounted ahead of this Europa League showdown with the Italian giants. Here’s some Hoops fans touching down in Rome.
