ODSONNE EDOUARD provided Celtic with a huge boost after the Frenchman hit a double on international duty with his national U21 side. The attacker’s goals take him ahead of former teammate Moussa Dembele in the U21 goalscorer record books.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon will have been watching with delight as Edouard struck two excellent goals. Since returning from a positive COVID-19 test, Edouard hasn’t hit his best form for The 10IAR chasers and it would be a huge boost if he could hit the heights of last season that saw him score 28 goals and notch 12 assists in 45 appearances.

Before kick-off, France Football reporter Benoit Desaint evaluated the 22-year-old who would later beat Dembele’s record by scoring 15 goals in 10 games for the French youth side. Desaint referred to Edouard as ‘Mr Double’, which would be a stellar prediction as Celtic’s hitman scored an impressive couple.
“Excellent in finishing, the right-footer is also excellent at creating. He is a real poison for defences.
“The Scottish title winner also has a nice burst of speed which allows him to offer solutions on the counter-attack.”
