‘Les Bleuets’ Superstar Odsonne Edouard: “Continues to be prolific”, “Celtic did a number on PSG”

Last night’s double from Odsonne Edouard secured qualification for the French ‘Les Bleuets’ – the mini-blues – for the Under 21 Euros next year and perhaps more importantly from a Celtic perspective signalled the end to his post Covid ‘blues’ and a return to goalscoring form.

His two goals last night also made Odsonne a French record breaker. He’s now bagged 14 goals in 10 matches for the French Under 21s which surpasses the previous record held by none other that former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele who scored 13 goals in 23 matches.

Here’s some post match reaction after the France’s 3-1 win over Switzerland last night, with the goals available in our earlier article, which you can see HERE.

Celticghirl is of course correct – we do need Odsonne Edouard firing on all cylinders starting on Saturday’s visit to Easter Road. With Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and Moi Elyounoussi all hitting top form things can really start to motor forward for Celtic in what has been a frustrating season so far, if we can add a back on form Odsonne Edouard back into he mix.

At the start of the season most of us were looking to Edouard to be the top Bhoy in driving Celtic towards Ten-in-a-Row. Maybe we were right after all. Fingers crossed for Saturday then! Yesterday we talked about how the three want-away Celts – Christie, Ajer and Edouard – could all benefit Celtic by hitting top form in order to get the best move possible next summer, and also maximise the transfer fee Celtic can bering in from the sales. We pointed out that two from three were looking like doing just that and what was needed was a return to form from  French Eddie. Hopefully that’s where we are this morning…
