Done deal: Talented Celtic forward completes transfer back to his homeland

You never like to see a talented young player leave the club, but there has been some talk of Cameron Harper returning to the US for a few months now.

He did get his chance to play for Celtic’s first team when he played against Hibs after the Dubai debacle, but it was clear in that game that he was still a bit away from being a regular starter in the first team.

He’s clearly talented and hopefully he does go on to have a big future in the game, but it won’t be in Glasgow for now as it’s just been confirmed that he’s signed for the New York Red Bulls:

It sounds like the deal has been completed today but he still had a contract until the end of the season, so it’s not clear if there’s any type of fee or sell-on clause included in the transfer at all.

He wasn’t likely to play a role in the team between now and the end of the season so it makes sense to let him go now, and it’s a name to keep an eye out for when the MLS returns.
