The Eddie Howe to Celtic saga could be heading to its conclusion as the 43-year-old looks to be confirmed as Celtic manager shortly. Talksport journalist Alex Crook moved to alleviate some fears amongst the support that the delay could mean that the manager was not coming to Paradise next season. However, Crook has said that the delay is partially down to the fate of Bournemouth’s promotion push.
Whilst Crook works for Talksport, who can be less than reliable, Crook is a South Coast journalist that has close ties to both Howe and Bournemouth. This means that the news could very well be from Howe’s end and not Celtic’s as the club look to finally appoint Neil Lennon’s successor.
🍀 “Very reliable sources tell me Howe is heading to Celtic.”
🍒 “One of the reason’s for the delay is #AFCB being in the play-offs.”
🤝 “As far as I’m told, he’ll be Celtic manager at the start of next season.”@Alex_Crook believes Eddie Howe will be the next #CelticFC boss. pic.twitter.com/G77XSPqDOF

Howe is said to be working away on the pretence of taking over next season, quietly assembling his backroom staff and identifying signing targets. Howe is waiting to see if Bournemouth make the Premier League before knowing whether his lieutenants from the Cherries will be easily attainable.
The Englishman has an enormous job to do at Celtic and fans want him in the door as soon as possible to begin the rebuild. However, this could offer some reassurance for fans that have been waiting for any update in the last few months.
It does look like finally moving to some confirmation but the worry is the mention of ‘next season’. We need someone to take control for the Ch League qualifiers, so perhaps the journalist was maybe just not looking at all the parameters. He needs to be the manager by the end of this season, not the start of next. Unless he means the start of next season being the qualifiers. I guess we’ll know soon enough
