Six Celtic players have today been named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the Euros – Scotland’s first appearance at a major finals this century.
The Celtic Star’s Player of the Year Callum McGregor is included alongside regular Scotland starter Ryan Christie and squad member Greg Taylor. Those three are joined by James Forrest, who makes the squad despite only recently returning from a long-term ankle injury and also by David Turnbull, the winner of both the club’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year and also the PFA Young Player of the Year.
Those five are joined by on-loan Celt Jack Hendry who has recovered from a recent injury at Oostende to make the squad but there is no place for Leigh Griffiths who has paid the price for his lack of match action this year For Celtic.
