Celtic’s latest injury concern as Juranovic forced off

Ange Postecoglou has another injury concern to worry about after Josip Juranovic limped off in the first half against Dundee United. The Croatian Internationalist was limping down on the left flank before Adam Montgomery replaced him midway through the first half.

It is yet another injury headache for the manager and his staff with the full-back now a doubt for Thursday’s game against Bayer Leverkusen.

Callum McGregor is fighting to get back to fitness for the game against the Germans but it remains to be seen whether he will make it back in time. Kyogo, Jullien, Taylor, Forrest and Dembele are unavailable and Giorgos Giakoumakis and Mikey Johnston are doubts. Add Juranovic to that list and you are nearing a full starting XI. Bolingoli was not included in the squad for today’s game and the Belgian has potentially suffered an injury as well. This leaves Celtic short in the left back position with Montgomery and potentially Liam Scales the only options ahead of Thursday and a trip to Pittodrie on Sunday.

James McCarthy also went off at half time with Soro replacing him. Although it is unclear whether this was tactical or another forced change.

  1. Individual signings have made no difference 10 points from 7 games. Oh dear. Ange sounds like the Australian Tony Mowbray. He won’t last as long as Tony. He is floundering. He does not really know what to do. Dead Man Walking. In about 3 weeks Celtic will be getting booed onto the park. By that time Celtic will be 10 points behind at least. Laughing stock again.

  2. I know we have had a big clear out and I know and appreciate that the new signings need time, however, i also understand that we have had a lot of injuries but if we can’t win against teams like Dundee utd or Livingston, I don’t see any chance of winning anything this year again.

  3. We don’t know how good a manager Ange is—He still retains ,” Duds “, in his backroom staff such as :- Kennedy , Strachan etc. who would not know a good player if they saw one !!!! How bad is IJETI ? He is a complete embarrassment — I think he touched the ball twice , today in the whole game and that includes the sitters he missed . We are , now starting to witness the malaise of last season where players are just going through the motions, lifting their pay packets under false pretence and should not be anywhere near a great club like Celtic .
The team has no ,” Engine Room “, we need fast , strong , skilful , ” Box to Box ” , mid- field players who want the team to be a success . Not , Wimps like Rogic and Turnbull who fade out of the game after about 20 minutes play , if things are not going their way . Our midfield has no defence qualities and that is why , no matter who we play in defence they appear to be poor defenders.
So Ange —Your style of play is good ; Your enthusiasm is good ; The players YOU seem to have signed are good —Get rid of the , duds in the backroom staff and in the First team squad before it is too late or the great Celtic support will soon turn against you. You do not have much time left !!!!!
