Team’s Up – Jullien and Johnston start for Celtic in Glasgow Cup semi-final against Old Firm FC

Christopher Jullien and Mikey Johnston both start for Celtic B team who take on theRangers this afternoon in the Glasgow Cup semi-final, with the game being played at Murray Park. Both players were unused substitutes at Hampden on Sunday in the Scottish Cup semi-final and both are short of match fitness.

Mikey Johnston has had a stop start season due to various injuries picked up throughout the campaign while Chris Jullien has not been able to dislodge the central defensive partnership of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt in Ange Postecoglou’s side. The £7m signing from Toulouse will be desperate to get back into first team action as soon as possible after missing a year with that horrible knee injury after banging into the goalpost at Celtic Park against Dundee United late in 2020.

Tommy McIntyre has named the following side to take on theRangers and hopefully end a disappointing run of two back to back losses at both Ibrox and Celtic Park against today’s opponents. Before that the sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Glasgow Cup over at Airdrie.

CELTIC: Oluwayemi, Dede, Paterson, Otoo (captain), Jullien, Lawal, Karamoko, Carse, Kenny, Wylie and Johnston. Subs are Corr, Morrison, Letsosa, Vata, Dawson, Summers and Brooks.

A win will help lift spirits so the best of luck to Bhoys.
