Alexandro Bernabei attending to business in Europe as Celtic initial bid rejected

Celtic have had an initial bid for Argentine left-back Alexandro Bernabei rejected by Lanus, according to Argentinian sports reporter César Luis Merlo from TYC Sports  who reported:

“Celtic are interested in signing Alexander Bernabei. The European club made an offer to acquire 100% of the pass, but Lanús considered it insufficient. If they improve the proposal, Garnet is willing to sell it.”

The 21 year old has made 24 appearances, providing two assists for Lanus in the Primera Division this season, but was conspicuous by his absence in the draw with Defensa y Justicia on Friday, as news of Celtic’s interest broke, with the word coming from South America being that the full-back had business in Europe to deal with.

Signing Bernabei  could also pave the way for Irish left back Liam Scales to move to Aberdeen, either on a season long loan or even a permanent move, with Jim Goodwin determined to bring the former Shamrock Rovers defender to Pittodrie.
