“New one for me but wow it was special,” Joe Hart blown away by Paradise on Flag Day

Just when he thought he had done it all and seen it all in the game, Celtic’s veteran goalkeeper Joe Hart got an eye opener yesterday afternoon around 4.25pm when he walked out at Paradise for the Flag Day opener against Aberdeen to be greeted by the most amazing stadium wide tifo display – organised by the Green Brigade and funded entirely by the Celtic support.

The former England goalkeeper took to Instagram to post his comments on this, simply saying “Flag day …. New one for me but wow it was special, great to be back at it … special place.”

Hart had a comfortable afternoon, one wee fright when Jonny Hayes had a chance he didn’t in his heart of hearts want to take, and it was the Celtic captain Callum McGregor who came closest to beating Hart with a cheeky effort that the goalie did well to tip over the bar.

Celtic won 2-0, comfortably enough in the end but Ange Postecoglou wasn’t best pleased with the wastefulness in front of goal, dismissing praise that his team had been patient waiting the decisive second goal by countering that when chances come along they should be taken, thus negating any need for patience.

Here’s Joe Hart’s flag day message…
