A Bow and a Banger – Enough is Enough

A BOW from Ryan Christie and then a banger from an absolute rocket in the Celtic support just in front of where we were standing and the result is that Celtic will be dragged through the dirt.

This has got to stop and if you can’t see that then there should be no place for you within our away support.

Anyway here’s a report on the match with thanks to the official Celtic twitter feed.

5 Mins – Five minutes played in Paisley, a bit of a frantic start but Celtic are back in possession. Timothy Weah’s cross is cleared away by the Saints defence, though.

9 Mins – Timothy Weah hits from distance but it’s blocked. The counter attack results in a free-kick, however, Duckens Nazon can’t capitalise.

10 Mins -.Callum McGregor plays through Kristoffer Ajer who finds himself in the box, the Norwegian takes a touch but the shot is struck powerfully over the bar.

15 Mins – Weah’s header hits off the bar and crosses the line to give Celtic an early advantage!

19 Mins – The Hoops attack again! Oli Burke gets on to the end of another Callum McGregor pass. Burke’s strike goes low and wide.

22 Mins – Timothy Weah continues to cause the Buddies trouble. The American skips past his man, before delivering a low cross into the box that’s deflected out for a corner. The resulting set-piece is hit over by Mikael Lustig.

30 Mins – Emilio Izaguirre’s cross results in a handball, however, the spot kick from Olivier Ntcham is saved by Vaclav Hladky. The midfielder’s rebounded effort strikes the crossbar and goes over.

35 Mins – All Celtic so far as another Timothy Weah delivery is cleared at the front post.

42 Mins – Olivier Ntcham with a reverse pass to Timothy Weah and after a good touch the Saints keeper smothers the ball.

Half-time score – St Mirren 0 Celtic 1

49 Mins – First chance of the half goes to the Hoops. Oli Burke has his shot from inside the box smashed off the legs of the keeper.

51 Mins – Callum McGregor’s effort from the outside of the box is held by Vaclav Hladky. At the other end, Cody Cooke forces Scott Bain into a solid stop.

52 Mins – Corner from St Mirren leads to a header but as it falls to Duckens Nazon, the striker can’t connect well enough with the ball.

58 Mins – A smart first touch inside the area from James Forrest allows him to cross dangerously. It isn’t met by a Celtic head, though.

59 Mins – Big chance for the hosts. Duckens Nazon finds himself one-on-one with Scott Bain but he can’t get his shot away.

63 Mins – Christie returns to action replacing Ntcham.

66 Mins – Almost instant impact from Christie, however, Vaclav Hadky again saves with his legs.

70 Mins – Kristoffer Ajer goes into the referee’s book for a foul on Cammy MacPherson.

71 Mins – Benkovic replaces Lustig for the second change from Celtic.

74 Mins – Great curling effort from Christie falls just wide of the post.

78 Mins – Odsonne Edouard replaces the tiring Timo Weah.

84 Mins – Yellow card for Jozo Simunovic for a pull on Simeon Jackson on the halfway line.

86 Mins – Ryan Christie fires into the corner of the net to wrap up the three points and takes a bow in front of the Celtic support. The moment is spoilt by a complete moron who threw a banger onto the side of the goals and the explosive noise seemed to affect the St Mirren keeper. Expect repercussions now folks.

88 Mins – St Mirren come close to grabbing one back but Paul McGinn’s effort is cleared off the line.

95 Mins – Celtic see out the five minutes of stoppage time. Final score St Mirren 0 Celtic 2 with the goals from Weah and Christie.
